Lifeline has multiple easy-to-use medical alert systems for seniors and high-risk individuals living alone, providing prompt support from care specialists at the push of a button. Depending on your needs and budget, you can choose either an in-home or mobile system and add automatic fall detection. Lifeline’s monitoring system works 24/7, providing peace of mind to both users and caregivers.
Lifeline’s highly-trained response specialists are available 24/7 throughout the year and operate even during unforeseen situations such as power outages. They can provide you with support in over 140 languages and answer calls within approximately 20 seconds from when you press the alert button.
Lifeline offers the following functions to suit varying user needs.
You can wear Lifeline’s personal alert button as either a pendant or a wristband, depending on which system you choose. Help buttons have long battery lives and are waterproof, meaning you can wear them in a bath or shower—where falls are most common.
Lifeline offers an in-home communication system called HomeSafe that works through a landline or cellular connection. When you press the help button, it alerts the communicator from anywhere in your home, so long as it’s within range. The communicator works like a speakerphone and automatically connects you with the response center.
Lifeline’s On the Go mobile system provides coverage wherever you go. This system comprises an all-in-one pendant that works as both a help button and a two-way speaker communicator, enabling contact with the monitoring center directly through the pendant.
The mobile system also has advanced GPS tracking so specialists can track live locations and send help promptly.
You can add optional automatic fall detection technology to your home or mobile systems. With built-in sensors, the help button will automatically detect sudden acceleration or barometric pressure differences between standing up and lying down, indicating a fall. Its algorithm also differentiates between real falls and false alarms.
On pressing your alert button, you’ll connect with an assigned specialist who will pull up your profile and location, assess the situation, and contact emergency services or someone from your chosen list of responders. If there’s no confirmation that help has arrived, they’ll call to check in within 30 minutes.
Lifeline’s automatic fall detection also enables specialists to proactively call you regardless of whether you’ve pressed the help button. They’ll call emergency services if they cannot make verbal contact within 30 minutes after detecting your fall—providing additional confidence that you won’t go unassisted.
Lifeline’s specialists receive intensive training and coaching in gerontology, stress management, and HIPAA compliance. This means they’re well-equipped to respond to medical emergencies and know how to protect and secure your private health information. Lifeline also monitors calls regularly to ensure that you’re receiving the quality of care promised.
Lifeline systems come with a complimentary mobile app for you and your caregivers. You can track your device’s battery status, manage emergency contact information, test your system, and connect with support directly from the app for troubleshooting errors.
In addition, your caregivers can receive real-time alerts in case of an emergency. If you’re an On- the-Go subscriber, they can also track your location from the Lifeline mobile app. Finally, caregivers can use the app to track and monitor multiple profiles connected to their accounts.
Lifeline offers self- or technician-installation options at checkout. Here’s how to set the system up yourself.
Your box should come with the home communicator, a power cord, a phone cable, and a manual. Plug in the home communicator in the room where you spend the most time and slide the power switch on the back to switch it on.
Next, plug the clear end of the phone cord into your landline wall jack. Then plug the cable from your landline phone into the blue jack on the back of the home communicator to hear a dial tone on your phone.
Press and release the blinking bar to begin testing the range of your help button. Move to different parts of the house and press the help button. So long as you hear a beep from the communicator, you’re within range.
Once testing is complete, press the rest bar again, and it will connect you with a Lifeline specialist who’ll confirm setup and answer any questions.
You’ll receive a pendant, a charging cradle, and a manual in this box. Place the pendant in the charging cradle and connect it to a power source. When the red light changes to green, your pendant is fully charged. Now press the button to connect to a Lifeline specialist who will confirm setup and answer any questions.
